For me, conducting is this combination of music and communication with musicians. I think it's one of the biggest differences between, for example, a soloist career and a job of a conductor.
私にとって指揮とは、音楽、そして演奏者の皆さんとのコミュニケーション、この2つの組み合わせだと思っています。ソリストとしてやってゆくことと、指揮者が仕事とすることとの違いは色々ありますが、これが一番大きいものの1つだと思っています。
And then as well, it's so important just to keep going and to enjoy being with people.
それと、とても大事なこととして、「継続は力なり」、そして人と一緒に居ることを楽しむことです。
I was born into a musical family, and so my grandmother and her six siblings, we all are professional musicians.
私は音楽一家に生まれました。祖母とその6人の兄弟姉妹を含めて、私の家族全員が、プロの音楽家なんです。
The whole program of our subscription concert in December, I'm so glad we had just this one enlightened minute.

(Henri) Vieuxtemps was probably the first piece, and then we looked at this suite from “The Golden Key” , the ballet, and this piece by (Mieczyslaw) Weinberg already is a beautiful combination.
アンリ・ヴュータン（のヴァイオリン協奏曲第4番）が最初の曲だったと思います。次がバレエ音楽「黄金の鍵」の組曲です。この曲は（ミチェスワフ・）ヴァインベルクが書いたもので、組曲だけで既に素晴らしい音楽の数々を楽しんで頂けます。
Then (Pyotr Ilyich) Tchaikovsky, with connection to Weinberg, it's just really a perfect trio.
次がチャイコフスキー（の交響曲第4番）で、先程の（ヴュータンとヴァインベルクの）曲と合わせて、これ以上無い3曲の組み合わせです。
In case of “The Golden Key” by Weinberg, it will be very easy listening music. I think, and I expect, for all of us, will have a great time, and quite ... and very sure with.
ヴァインベルグの「黄金の鍵」については、とても聞きやすい音楽です。皆さんとともに、素晴らしいひとときとなると思います、というか、確信しています。

My full name is Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, and my profession is conducting.
私の名前、フルネームで申しますと、ミルガ・グラジニーテ・ティーラ、指揮者を仕事としています。
Music was, in a way, the centre (which) my life was turning around since my birth. On the other hand, I'm noticing I'm need it a lot.
音楽はある意味、生まれた時から、そこを中心にして自分の生活が回されていたものです。そう思う一方で、自分がそれを物凄く必要としてる、という自分の気持ちにも気づいています。
But I also need distance from it in order to maintain the fresh love and passion to it. It is like breathing, but it must be fresh.
同時に、自分にとっては、音楽から距離を置くことも必要だと思っています。そうすることで、音楽を愛する気持ち、情熱を掻き立てる気持ちを、新鮮に保つのです。呼吸をするようなものですが、吸う空気は新鮮でないといけません。
