Being an assitant of Maestro Petrenko is really terrific. And from the very beginning until this moment, I learned a lot, immense, from him, and also from the orchestra and from the other accademists.
マエストロ・ペトレンコの見習い助手をさせて頂く機会を持てて、本当に凄いことだと思っています。一番最初の瞬間から、今この瞬間まで、沢山、数え切れないくらい、多くをマエストロから学びました。それだけでなく、オーケストラからも、そして他のアカデミー受講生の皆さんからも、数え切れないくらいの学びがありました。
And I'm so grateful to have this Karajan Academy scholarship and the opportunity of an assistant of Maestro Petrenko.
カラヤン・アカデミーのスカラシップを頂いて、マエストロの見習い助手をさせて頂いた、この機会に私は本当に感謝しています。
As I worked with Maestro Petrenko, I learned especially the work ethic. He is always a hundred-percent sincere, and he puts all the efforts and energy [into] each moment, every moment. And people around him, including me, feel that. Then we get his energy as well. And ... yeah, we never wasted minute of the rehearsal, and this is a great, great, great quality.
マエストロと一緒に音楽をしているうちに、特に勉強になったのが、仕事に対する心構えです。マエストロは常に心底誠実で、努力も気力も体力も全て残さず、一瞬一瞬に注ぎ込むのです。そしてマエストロの周りにいる人達、私も含めてですけど、それを感じています。すると私達までも、マエストロのエネルギーをもらうのです。そして…そう、オーケストラとの事前練習は、一秒も無駄がなくて、これって、本当に、本当に、本当に素晴らしい質の高さでした。
The biggest challenge as an assistant conductor is to have as good as possible listening quality of the conductor. In my case, it's Maestro Petrenko, who has very precise requests and concrete images. So I always try very hard to listen to what he's listening to. So this is a big challenge for me.
世の中で副指揮者というものは、一番乗り越えたいと思うことは、正指揮者に出来る限り迫るくらいの、聴く力を身につけることです。私の今回の経験の場合、「正指揮者」に当たる人は、マエストロのことです。練習中にオーケストラに対して、次々要求することは、どれも的確そのもの。頭に持っている色々なイメージは、どれも具体的で明確です。ですから私も、マエストロが聴いているであろうことを、常に全力で聴くようにしました。これは私にとって、とてつもなく大きくて、乗り越えていきたいことです。
In my opinion, from my little experiences, the important thing as a conductor is to be myself on the podium, not to be pretentious or to try to look good or to be liked. But just like my mentor, Herr Petrenko, the important thing is to concentrate on music.
私の経験から言って、といってもそんなに大したことはありませんが、指揮者として大切なことは、指揮台に立ったら、ありのままの自分でいること。違う自分を装わないで、上面を飾ろうとしないで、気に入られようと媚を売らないで、そうではなくて、丁度私のメンターであるマエストロのように、音楽に集中する、これが大事なことだと思っています。
