It's a pleasure to meet you just before the concert. You're such a talented and extraordinary musician. And I think just about a year ago you started to play this wonderful instrument. Can you tell us a little bit about the relationship between the musician and the instrument?

演奏会に先立ちまして、お会いできますこと、嬉しく思います。才能あふれる素晴らしい音楽家でいらっしゃいますが、今お持ちの、この素晴らしい楽器は丁度１年ほど前から、お使いになっているかと思います。音楽をなさる方と、お使いになる楽器というのは、どのような関係なのか、少しお話しいただけますか。

楽器、特にこのような楽器となりますと、自分のインスピレーションの源、そういうものです。
You know, it's not only a beautiful sound and many possibilities on stage and ... it's mostly the the inspiration that it gives um me personally.
単に、弾いてみたらよい音がするとか、舞台で弾いてみたら、色々なことができるとか、それだけではなくて、その…一番大きいのは、自分にしか湧き上がってこない、そういうインスピレーションを生むキッカケをくれるものだ、ということです。
And you know, it's my companion. I go obviously everywhere with my violin. and I feel very lucky every time I open the case and I look at how beautiful this instrument is.
それと、自分にとっては、いつも行動を共にする、とても親密な関係にあるものだ、ということです。僕は自分のバイオリンを、とくかくどこへでも持ち歩きます。ケースを開くたびに、こんなに素晴らしい楽器をじっと見つめるたびに、「ああ、なんて幸せなんだろう」て、感じます。

You achieved so many things already, and you're very young. What are your new ideas? What are you working on apart from your day-to-day playing?

これまで多くの実績をお持ちで、まだまだお若いあなたですが、これから新しくやろうとしていることは、何ですか？毎日こなすお仕事の他に、何か今、取り組んでおられることはありますか？

The main thing that I always hope is to always stay inspired when, you know, with the upcoming years and upcoming time, always come up with new ideas, new things.

一番に思っていることは、いつでも新しいことを始めよう、そういう気持ちをずっと保ち続けたい、ということです。これからやってくる年月、このあとくる時刻、どんな時でも、今までにないアイデア、今までにない取り組み、そいういうものを自分の目の前に置く、そうでありたいと思っています。
I took some Arabic folk music actually, and I did arrangements for violin on them. and that's one of the things that you're not always trying to find not only in the ways of expression but as well come up with something that inspires me and hopefully others as well.
今実際やっているのは、アラブの民族音楽に、少し取り組んでいるんです。自分でバイオリン用にアレンジもしました。これなんかは、単にどうやって弾くかと言う表現方法だけではなくて、これに取り組むことによって、自分自身にとって今までにないものを思いついたり、そしてできれば、他の人達にとっても、そういうキッカケになればと、そう思っています
